Mercredi 24 septembre, Watertown :
Marie et Fabien avaient rendez-vous au DANC (Development Authority of the North Country) pour découvrir la structure et visiter des projets qu’elle a réalisé : visite d’une décharge et réutilisation du méthane des ordures pour le transformer en électricité, visite d’un ancien site industriel reconverti en pépinière d’entreprises et visite d’un lotissement de maisons individuelles a Watertown.

Marie and Fabien went to DANC (Development Authority of the North Country) to discover the structure and visit projects, already achieved: a visit to a dump where methane from garbage is converted and transformed into electricity; a visit to a former industrial site converted into a space of offices for new businesses; a visit to a housing project of individual homes, in Watertown.

Vendredi 26 septembre, Saranac Lake :
Marie s’est rendue au VIC (Visitor Interpretive Center) pour rencontrer Andy Flynn pour lui présenter la structure, son fonctionnement et ses missions. Lors de cette visite, Marie a pu découvrir l’histoire de Saranac Lake et les enjeux de la préservation de la foret de Adirondack. Merci a Andy et son équipe pour leur gentillesse et leur accueil.

Marie was taken to the VIC (Visitor Interpretive Center) to meet Andy Flynn who showed her the structure and the function of the Center, as well as its missions. Marie was able to discover the history of Saranac Lake and the effects of Forever Wild in the Adirondack Park. . A big thank you to Andy and his team for their warm welcome and kindness. Mardi 30 septembre, Laval, Québec :

Fabien et Marie ont eu la chance de rencontrer le matin, André Goulet de la Firme Horizon Multiressources (cabinet de Consultants dans le domaine du développement durable) a Lachute ; et l`après-midi, le directeur du service urbanisme de la ville de Boisbriand, Denis Lechasseur. Lors de cette dernière, une visite de terrain a été organisée : aménagement de la berge de la rivière, reconversion d`un ancien site industriel (General Motor) en zone d`aménagement concertée et jardin communal (avec le développement de l`utilisation de l`osier).

Fabien and Marie were lucky to meet, this morning, André Goulet of Horizon Multiressources, a group of consultants who work in the area of sustainable development in Lachute. In the afternoon, the director of urban service of the city of Boisbriand, Denis Lechasseur. During this time, a visit to the area was organized: renovation of the river bank, renovation of a former industrial site of General Motors, where a concerted planning effort has created a community garden; in this garden are willow trees, which are used to make fencing and other items for their various projects.

Marie a rencontré l’équipe du Centre Local de Développement (CLD) de la ville de Saint-Jérome (Présentation de la structure et des politiques de développement) et Fabien, les représentants de la Régie Intercommunale du Parc Régional de la Rivière du Nord.

Marie met the group from CLD, Local Center of Development of the city of Saint Jérome, while Fabien met with the representatives of the Regional Park Intercommunity administration of Rivière du Nord.
